Born on September 3, 1918 to Jay Otis Newlon and Kathleen Kishler Newlon in New Lexington, Ohio.  Jay had an older brother, Arthur and a older sister, Elizabeth.
June 1936
Graduates from High School in New Lexington, Ohio.
June 1940
Graduates from Ohio State University.
July 1940
Gets job at Chemical Bank and Trust in New York City.
September 1, 1940
Marries Martha Jane Hart in Jamaica, New York.
1942
Joins the Navy
November 17, 1942
First son, Daniel Hart Newlon is born in Bremerton, Washington Navy hospital.
July 3, 1945
First daughter, Nancy Alice, is born in Cincinnati, Ohio
November 1945
Discharged from Navy.
December 1945
Gets job with IRS in Dayton, Ohio.
January 6, 1949
Second daughter, Penelope Faith, is born in Dayton, Ohio.
1950
Takes job with DuPont de Nemours in Wilmington, Delaware.
September 8, 1952
Second son, Thomas Arthur, is born at home in Fairfax, Delaware.
February 16, 1955
Third son, Christopher Andrew, is born at home in Fairfax, Delaware.
December 3, 1956
Fourth son, Timothy Scott, is born at home in Wilmington, Delaware.
1957
Moves famly into home at 108 Wayland Road.  Home was designed by Jay and he also was the contractor.
November 1972
Unsuccessful run for New Castle County Council.  Ran as a Democrat in a highly Republican district and received more votes that Joe Biden.
March 15, 1973
Became Director of the Division of Central Data Processing for the State of Delaware .  Du Pont loaned him to the state for a year.  His efforts resulted in over $750,000 in savings over 3 years. 
March 1, 1974
Appointed General Auditor for duPont de Nemours.
September 30, 1983
Retires from duPont de Nemours after 33 years of employment.
October 1983
Began bicycle trip across the US.  In Texas returned to Wilmington to help with grandchildren.
1985
Began work as Financial Consultant to the Pennsylvania rafting company Whitewater Challengers.
June 1986
Received Yoga Teacher Training at Kripalu Yoga Center in Stockbridge, Massachusetts.
September 2010
Celebrated 70th wedding anniversary.
December 2011
Completed his 41st semester as a yoga instructor at the University of Delaware Academy of Lifelong Learning.  The only class that he ever missed due to illness was in December 2011.
January 3, 2012
Passed away on January 3, 2012 in Greenville, Delaware.
